Bugis is already known as one of the cafe heavens of Singapore with countless number of cafe joints lining the hipster streets. 

Mellower Coffee, has just reinforced this happening Bugis town by opening their latest outlet and flagship store along Middle Road (right next to Bugis+ you can't miss it!).

Here are some fun facts about this newly opened cafe and hopefully you'll be more than convinced that you HAVE to give it a visit sometime!

1. Mellower Coffee is a coffee chain that originates from Shanghai, China.

2. Mellower Coffee opened its first outlet in Singapore along Robinson Road and the Bugis outlet is its second + largest outlet to open here.

3. Mellower Coffee @Bugis consists of 2 stories and is extremely spacious with many cosy tables and seatings 

4. The outlet also has FREE WIFI and, yes I've tried it out already, the wifi connection is really strong even when full house.

5. The cafe has numerous power sockets all over so this makes it a really perfect place to study/camp/chill all afternoon!

6. This is not just a cafe but also a store selling their very own Mellower coffee products and merchandise! (coffee beans, coffee powder, coffee machines..basically all the stuff you need)

7. The cafe not only has an excellent ambience (to be honest, I love the ambience and the way the cafe is designed and decorated- absolutely cosy), the service here is also excellent!

8. UNIQUE COFFEE. 

So Mellower Coffee is a cafe that doesn't serve actual food. Why? Simple. Their coffee is all people come here for! Their coffee is not only GOOD but also very unique!

I faced a huge dilemma deciding between their 2 most popular signature coffees, Sweet Little Rain- a.k.a. Coffee with Cotton Candy ($9.80), and their Ondeh x Latte ($9.80)- Coconut+Gula Melaka+Latte

As shown in the photo above, I decided to order the latter. You're provided with a shot of espresso and a creamy ondeh ondeh drink. The resulting mixture is just pure goodness with the perfect mix of bitter and sweet. Mmm..

9. DESSERT.

Mellower Coffee does have a range of cakes and pastries too, not a huge selection to choose from but enough to catch your eye.

I tried their recommended Chocolate Truffle Cake ($7) and it was really rich and creamy with the layers of dark chocolate and ganache melting well in the mouth. Oh and the cake is also served with a golden fork! Yes, a golden fork. When do you ever get to eat cake with a golden fork (okay cheap thrill, but I was amused).

10. Just one downside is that the coffee and desserts here are a little on the pricey side. If you find their signature coffees too adventurous for you, you can always go for their classic coffees (a lot cheaper, and safer for you).

Overall, Mellower Coffee's flagship store at Bugis has won me over because of their excellent ambience, great coffee, and convenient location. I'd say it's worth a drop by!
