WORD CAFE: A CONTAINER-THEMED CAFE SERVING RAINBOW BURGERS!

Fancy a RAINBOW Burger?? Yes you heard that right! You've heard of rainbow cakes and bagels but now I bring to you the RAINBOW Burger!!! It looks so interesting it's hard not to wonder how it tastes!
The cafe behind this creation is none other than WORD. Cafe!
WORD. Cafe is a new cafe along Upper Thomson Road located at the Thong Soon estate where Springleaf Prata place can also be found. Yes this part of Upper Thomson may be a bit more ulu than usual but hey it will be right at the doorstep of "Springleaf Station" as part of the new Thomson Line come 2020! I see an up-and-coming foodie area in the making!
The cafe was opened by a muslim family earlier last year (yes it's a halal cafe) and showcases a really cool and hipster-ish container theme.

Really nice ambience inside
I really like the ambience of the cafe. It's really well and elaborately decorated from the walls to the ceiling to the bar-counter area, giving the whole cafe a hipster-ish vibe. I was there on a weekday afternoon and it was really empty as well. Okay maybe the ulu location helped with that but overall I enjoyed the peaceful cafe experience.

They serve a lot of interesting drinks from mocktails, floats, smoothies, to coffee and tea.

I must say that they give their dishes very interesting and memorable names such as the "Blur Like Sotong" Calamari ($12), "IKEA Made Us Do It" Beef Balls ($12) and "Cut The Crab" Cheese Crabcakes ($15).
Among the dishes, we were recommended the "Handsome Burg / a.k.a The Rainbow Burger"($20) as well as the "Cow-Ch Potato Steak" ($24).

I was really curious about this rainbow-looking burger and whether it tasted as interesting as it looked. I mean, very often, food that looks attractive, aren't as appetising.
To my surprise, the rainbow burger was decently good! The patty was nice and soft, the coloured buns were tasty and had a nice crisp to it. I particularly liked the spicy peanut butter sauce that reminded me of satay sauce, just that this was spicier and less peanuty. Overall a really interesting taste I must say!
On a side note, the fries weren't that good, tastes like those fries you get when you order western food from a coffee shop stall that doesn't serve good western food heh

It was decent, not brilliant. I think if you visit this cafe stick to their mains instead of brunch food
Overall, I had a good experience at WORD. Cafe with an interesting burger meal, really friendly staff and great ambience!
Yes, this cafe may be a little out of the way but hey if you want that try that Rainbow Burger you gotta make that journey!
I tell ya these days ulu-cafes are becoming a thing cause they give you something those overly-popz cafes can't: Good food with a peaceful dining experience!
